Lovely little place with caring staff at the reception desk. Easy, superior location in the particularly good area. A good restaurant and a downstairs bar available. Fine base for exploring San Francisco...
Beds were not firm enough.

room we were assigned was barely bigger than a closet! We asked for a change but had to wait two nights, until Sunday, to make it. new room was perfect, big and even had a fireplace! I fell in love with the hotel as the days went by. It has details that make it special: availability throughout the day of water, soda and ice, tea and coffee all free! In the lobby there is a beautiful water dispenser with lemons and cookies in the afternoon. between 5 and 6. 30 PM they serve wine, cheese and other delicacies to entertain guests! decoration is very warm, staff is super friendly and location is PERFECT! Close to everything and yet quiet. We highly recommend it!
first impression was not good, as soon as you entered you could see the maid's cart with which they clean the rooms and used sheets and towels thrown in the corridor. I didn't like it at all. They take too long to clear the corridors, sometimes they are like this until late afternoon!

charming atmosphere but slight noise late at night
The personalized evening nibbles and drinks created a warm social environment. The room's lovely gas fireplace added a cozy touch.
We heard some noise from the street late at night, which interrupted our sleep a bit.

it is an old building and so it behaves like one- squeaky wood floors-not sound proof at all- and a little worn...

The hotel had an unusual ambiance. It was interestingly decorated and the room was cost with the fireplace. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was of a high standard. It was just nice not to stay in a chain hotel where everything is so regimented.
Although the room looked gorgeous it didn't sometimes work that well E.g the wardrobe was directly in front of the bathroom door and the doors didn't close too well so two of us getting in and out and getting dressed didn't always work out too well. Parking was expensive and added a lot to our bill but I suppose that's just San Francisco.

This place is a suitable option for a city holiday in San Francisco with high value for money. The evening wine hour from 5pm to 6:30pm was a nice surprise and a great way to unwind after exploring the city. Avoid room 22 since it's really noisy and has little light.

Probably the hotel itself. The decoration can be a little bit overwhelming, but when you get there, everything makes sense. The staff is very friendly and the facilities and amenities are great. Rooms are big and very comfortable. And some of them even have a fireplace!

I enjoyed the cute service and the wine hour during the week that allowed for a nice, relaxing end to my days. I would advise against staying in room 22 since it had a lot of noise from the reception area. The area had good options for dining and shopping, easy to explore.

The little pastries which were freshly baked each night and were left in the reception for everyone to grab.
The bathroom of my queenroom was quite small and the walls are thin, so you do hear it when people talk in the corridor.
